Speak Up

Happy Thursday! Okay, my parents are on their way and should be here soon.  I have about a half hour to do this, so let's start. Oh man, my mom just texted me they are almost here. Okay now really time to start. Might be short. I don't know.

I wanted to talk about speaking up. See, when I was growing up I remember that I was always taught to be quiet and reserved about my difficulties. What I mean is I was not supposed to ask people for prayer. Well I could have asked like my parents but nobody else. I guess they would be embarrassed.

Do you notice something? If I never ask people for prayer or even told people about my difficulties and probably didn't end up telling people about God helping me through my difficulties, then if I didn't speak up, how would people know God's glory? Think about that for a second. I can imagine  Satan whispering in people's ears, "don't say anything you might get embarrassed." Don't you think he is saying don't say anything because we would be making God look good. And he doesn't want that?

So, fast forward to now after the time I became a Christian. I discovered that we need to speak up. We need to not think about us being embarrassed because it's not about that at all. When we tell people about our difficulties we can ask them for prayer. We can also tell people about how God helps us through our difficulties. We need to speak up because how will people know how awesome God is if we don't speak about his glory?

I do remember being told to be quiet and to just keep the difficulties within the family. Friends, if that's what God is telling you then you will know. But, God might be telling you something else. I guess we just got to listen to our hearts and really not be afraid to speak the word of God. We mustn't be afraid to spread the glory of God. And, we definitely should never be afraid to ask for help.

*Wow, thanks to my voice activation on my phone, I did that in like 20 something minutes. Amen! Have a blessed day!
