Not Even!!!!

Why did I give the title of my writing this morning "Not Even?" I will tell you guys why. Because, I'm thinking when somebody decides to turn their lives over to God and become a born again Christian, they may think it's smooth sailing from there? Will that person no longer have to worry about struggles or trouble on this Earth? Again, I repeat, Not Even! Or, maybe I should simplify things and just say no way!

It's pretty sad to me when I share the gospel with people, and I talk to people about Christ. And... The sole reason they will choose to follow Christ is because they think that if they do follow Christ they will be healed from their sickness, or they will be reunited with their family, or they will make millions by getting a new job that God is going to bless them with. Oh, maybe the person will be the first in line to buy a lottery ticket, because they think that now that they are Christian God is going to bless them with an abundant fill of millions or billions of dollars. It could be whatever prosperous thing we humans adore.

Then, once nothing exciting, prosperous or positive is happening in their lives, where do they turn next? Well, I don't know. It's different for the next person. However, what I do see is that they turn far away from God. They're not receiving the abundant Blessings they thought they would get if they would accept Jesus in their lives.

Doesn't that sound sad? Imagine how God would feel!? There is nothing in the Bible where God says the people he created are not going to go through heartache, problems, sickness, or any of the negative stuff. People may not have to go through anything negative in their lives. I have no idea. It is all up to God and his beautiful mind!

Friends, we must not be fooled by the enemy. Because that is what he will put into our minds. If we don't receive the glorious things we think God will give us,  or better yet,  we really believe God will give us. Then, the evil one wants us to be mad at God and just turn far away from him.

To reiterate, we mustn't be fooled! We must continue to trust, rely and call on God in our lives. We must not let the evil one enter our minds with deceitful words about our God! Set our minds on Christ. Be mindful of what the evil one may be putting in our minds and ask yourselves is this what Jesus would do?

John 16:33 ESV

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Romans 8:1 ESV

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
