You guys are probably thinking, "wow what did he do?" Be patient my friends. I am going to tell you. Once, the Lord called out to Abraham. And Abraham was told by the Lord to sacrifice something. No, more like someone. The Lord wanted Abraham to take his son Isaac to the top of a mountain and sacrifice his son. To take a knife and kill him. Abraham was probably shocked out of his mind!
Remember what Abraham and Sarah went through just to have their little boy Isaac? Now, after the Lord provided them their son, He wanted them to kill him. That's crazy talk isn't it huh?
Abraham was so faithful and obedient to the Lord. He chooses to do what the Lord told him to do all the time. So, Abraham took Isaac to the top of the mountain. Isaac was wondering where was the animal that they usually sacrifice. Abraham told Isaac once they get to the mountain the Lord will provide something for them to sacrifice.
Once Abraham and Isaac got to the top of the mountain, Abraham tied up Isaac with knife in one hand and was about to slay his son until an angel of the Lord called out to Abraham to not do what he was about to do. The Lord indeed provided something to sacrifice but it wasn't Isaac that's to be sacrificed.
This man Abraham, really, really, really had faith. I think deep down inside his heart he knew the Lord didn't want him to sacrifice his son. I challenge you guys to ask yourselves, would you be able to do what he did to your child or children? If you had a son or daughter would you be able to do what he did?
