Perishable Vs. Imperishable

Today I want to write about the significance and difference between these two words. I am not saying that you all are stupid and cannot differentiate the meaning of the two. No! I'm saying I'm stupid and can't... LOL Just kidding! What I really want to do is share my deep thoughts with how I personally believe God was reminding me that there was a difference.

In my life, I have a lot of things. I know that and I feel very blessed, as I should feel. These vary from things being materialistic to being personal, like relationship-wise.  All that is good and dandy. However, there are times I will forget that they're all temporary. They can be taken away at any given time. We can be taken away at any given time.

Friends, there may be other people that will say they will be there for you all the time. But, that is just not reality. The saying should be "I may not be there for you all the time, but I will be there for you all the times that God will allow me to be there for you."  In short, "Lord willing" times.

I know some of you may feel, and I used to feel, this way too before I got saved, that is. I'm talking about the word "immortal."  Immortal not in the sense of being a superhero with mega Ultra Galactic super powers. No, not that type. I mean like we can't say to someone, well like I mentioned before, we will be with them all the time. We will be there to protect our loved ones all the time. We will be there to cook for our loved one's all the time. So on and so forth, etc etc.

To reiterate, having those feelings are nice to say and I'm sure something other people will find comforting.  To reiterate, I will say it again, there is just no guarantee.

Now, let's shift these thoughts over to --- our powerful God is something I am very thankful to have in my life. It was my choice to accept him. Relationship with God is what I believe I need in my life! God is omniscient and omnipresent, omnipotent and all that good stuff! With God, anything is possible!

Matthew 6:19-21 ESV

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Hebrews 13:5 ESV

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Matthew 6:24 ESV

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
