Feet Of Tears

Before I start this writing I would just like to say thank you. Thank you for encouraging me. I have no idea who this person is because he or she left a comment, but remain nameless. However, their comment was so encouraging and made me feel that I am truly doing something to other people's hearts by way of my writings. Thank you nameless person, thank you so much for blessing me with your words of encouragement! That is exactly what you did for me and that is exactly what I am trying to do for others with my writings!  Oh and yesterday I gave my card to my caregiver, Aundrewell and she gave my card to a nice gentleman on the bus who was on his phone. So shout out to Jermaine! I hope you will be encouraged by my writings!

Time to dive in! If you guys are devoted readers of my writings, then you know my stand on the word perfection. Basically, it doesn't happen. It doesn't happen to anyone. And, God knows that. And, he does not care. He still loves us. It says in his word while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

There was a story in the Bible of a woman who was pretty sinful. She had found out somehow that Jesus was eating at a Pharisee's home.  She went there and kneeled at Jesus's feet.  Jesus lovingly accepted her and told her that her sins were forgiven.

The story continues like this:

As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. (Luke 7:38)

Wow, this lady did a lot for Jesus. And Jesus, even though this lady was a sinner, forgave her of her sins. Friends, do you get it? Jesus loves all people including the flawed. I think once unbelievers really take that to heart and internalize that thought and love it, they too will love God and accept him as their personal Lord and savior!

If you guys are currently children of God, then our testimony of what a Christian is about has to be spot on! Now, I know that's not even remotely possible because of the whole perfection-imperfection thing until we see Jesus face-to-face and become more like him.

Encouraging thought of the day:

While we were still sinners Christ died for us!

CeCe Winans: Alabaster Jar

Luke 7:36-50New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”
40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,[a] and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.”
“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
