Genesis Series Part 24: Why God Why?

I don't think there is one single person in this world, on this Earth... I know I have. Maybe you have? Sorry, you all are probably lost. I'm talking to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ is their Supreme higher power. Have we guys asked the question, "Why God, why?

I was reading my One Year Bible a couple days ago with my husband and we came across this topic. Let me elaborate a little bit more.  I know I have thought about it. I know my husband talked about it. And, that question is this. God, if there are so much pain and disasters in this world why don't you just come back now!?

Sound familiar? We, Believers, are promised Paradise after death if we believe in Jesus Christ. That means no more pain. That means no more heartache. For me, that means no more MS! No more earthly disasters! No more having to deal with the death of loved ones! Basically no more internal or physical feelings of hurt!

Doesn't that sound pretty awesome? Amazing? I'm sure any human would rather have that good stuff instead of all the bad stuff. We really do have bad stuff going on in this life! You guys feeling my vibe?:-)

A couple days ago we were reading some chapters in the Book of Genesis trying to catch up because we are kind of behind in our readings. Let me share my thoughts of the title today, "Why God why?"

You know why? Can you guess why the Lord is not coming back yet? I am going to take a stab at it. People who do not know God should actually be thankful that the Lord has not decided to come back yet.

God is giving people who did not know him time to come to know him and to be accepting of God's forgiveness to them. He's giving people time to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins. He's giving people time to want to be excited about entering heaven for the rest of their life after death. Remember the verse "he who has the son has life he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

God maybe chose not to come back because he may be giving people time to accept him. And that's wonderful! However, on the flip side during the time God is not coming back yet might not even be doing anything for any unbeliever. It is just prolonging the fact that they still don't believe. It is giving Satan and his demons time to warm up their spot in hell! The choice is up to you guys. Remember?

Folks, God is not going to do something like reorganize your brain muscles and make you believe in him. Well, actually if he wanted to he could do that, but he won't because he gave you the freedom to choose!

When the story of Joseph started in the Book of Genesis it was already bad for him. First, there were his brothers. And, they were so jealous of their brother Joseph. Joseph suffered hatred and persecution from his brothers. The brothers sold Joseph and lied to their father Jacob by saying Joseph was killed. The whole story of Potiphar's wife trying to sleep with Joseph. That caused Potiphar to be so angry with Joseph that he was thrown in prison. The whole thing with the cupbearer forgetting to tell Pharaoh to let Joseph go. I can just imagine if I had to go through so much pain and heartache and all that terrible stuff Joseph went through, I would definitely be begging the Lord to come back already!

So, if you don't go to heaven whose fault is that? Yours and yours only. I suggest you make the right choice so you won't be at fault

2 Timothy 4:7-8 ESV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Isaiah 30:18 ESV

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
