There was one deep thought when I read about the fall of man in the Bible the other day. It really was a recurring subject throughout the story.
What I'm talking about is the cycle of blame. One day when Eve was in the Garden the evil serpent was speaking to her and being his evil self messing with her and manipulating God's words with her so that she would be disobedient and eat from the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. When, remember, God told her and Adam they can eat from any tree in the garden except for that one.
So Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit and then gave some to her husband. Joe and I were just talking about this. And we have no idea why people started calling it an apple because nowhere in the Bible does it say it was an apple. It was just forbidden fruit. It could have been like a persimmons or something or maybe a kiwi? LOL
Anyway, then Adam also took a bite of the forbidden fruit. Within time, God came. God called out to them and said something which I think he didn't have to say because he's God and he probably already knew. But, what he said when he came was, "Where are you?"
Right? He's God So, he probably already knew. Then, Adam said that we were hiding from you because we were naked. Dun dun Dun! Then, God said something to the effect of, who told you you were naked? Did you eat from the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil? And now the blaming begins.
Pause break. Hands are freezing freezing. Caregiver is not here today. Thank you Isabel for getting me a cup of hot water. I hope and pray you are encouraged by my writings. You have a blessed weekend.
Now, let's get back to me writing. As I was saying, now it begins. When God spoke with Adam and asked what was up, Adam blamed it on the woman God made for him. Instead of being thankful that God even provided him with a companion that probably fulfilled the needs of the man, and then some, Adam blames God.
That's not all. When God spoke with Eve and asked what happened? Eve blamed it on the serpentl What a mess right? We humans are at the point where they were at at right now because of that mess. It all started with the Serpent's conniving attitude and evil yet smart way of manipulating Eve.
So, get it? It was not the serpent's fault that the crime was committed. The deed was done by Adam and Eve. Who was at fault? Eve's at fault for getting the forbidden fruit off the tree. Adam was at fault, for listening to his wife and doing the deed with their own hands. Or, in their case, with their own mouth and taste buds.
How about humans now? In 2018? Do we take responsibility for our mistakes? Do we own up immediately when we make boo boos? Or, do we waste our precious time looking for someone we can blame?
We really shouldn't do that. Studies show and I've heard before that forgiving or not forgiving, harboring pain will make your muscles hurt physically or mentally. I don't think I need to say more about that. You guys can just imagine. Just take it from me. I've been there. Yep physically and mentally. I have also been around people who do have so much stress and frustrations and perhaps they too must be harboring pain. The other party always gets the backlash. The backlash that God is supposed to get. Remember he wants it?
If we knew we were the starting party to the sin that just happened we need to stop looking all innocent and pretending you didn't see what happened or you did not have anything to do with the sin that happened. The truth will set you free. Let it.

Encouraging thought of the day:
The truth will set you free!
