Genesis Series Part 58: Long-term

My normal caregiver, Aundrewell is who I'm going to use for an example before I write about our favorite Bible character (yes Joseph :-)).  As she mentioned last week, she was going to take a break from her job as a caregiver for some time. What happened to her was that she went to sleep for the night just like normal. However, something was different. In the middle of the night, she woke up because she was having excruciating pain in her stomach. Her boyfriend quickly took her to emergency and the doctor told her she was pregnant and was about to lose the baby. The baby seemed to have been growing in her fallopian tubes. Thank God everything turned out okay. It definitely could have been pretty dangerous considering the baby was growing in her fallopian tubes.

Don't tell her, but I really miss her! Please pray that after 5 weeks of rest, she'll be back working with me. Maybe even the Lord will provide a mracle and she can come back sooner. Hey, with the Lord anything is possible! Right!?
Her last time with me, I gave her the book of Love and Respect.  We were supposed to start going through it together. Then her world was pretty much turned upside down.

Doesn't that remind you of Joseph? Let me explain what I mean more fully. I'm just picturing Joseph talking to his dad, Jacob, about this really beautiful woman he just saw and then he's talking about his future and how he is going to marry the lady one day and have several kids, and he wants to make a career out of singing. I'm totally making this up. So don't believe it. LOL

Pause break I just met this nice girl Brittney who was in line and I gave her a card. Good thing I asked for the spelling of her name because when I told her I was off. LOL girl I pray you will be encouraged by the writings!

Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, the whole Joseph made-up story. Okay, let's say that happens. That was fake. But, after that fake incident, something real happened and it totally turned Joseph's world upside down! You all know what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about when his brothers decided to sell him. He was sold to be a slave and then he ended up with Potiphar and had that little mess with the wife of Potiphar. Anyway in the end when Joseph ended up with his brothers, he was not mad at them. What he said to them was you intended to harm me but God intended it for good! Hey now, I am not doubting that Joseph was questioning God and His motives even though in the end it ended up good.

Don't you have questions like that for God? WHY this God? Or WHY that God? Yeah, we can ask God all the questions at the end but you know what?  There's no guarantee that they all will be answered.

Here are some words from Greg Laurie.
"But on that final day when we stand before Him, all of our questions will be answered. All of our problems will be resolved. As 1 Corinthians 13:12 tells us, “All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”  God allows us to go through trials, but He has a long-term goal: to conform us into the image of Jesus Christ.'
