Genesis Series Part 59: In God's Time

Let me ask you guys something. Are you the type of person that lives their life basically around a certain time? Wait a minute that's a confusing question. Let me explain what I mean. Do you have a certain time you eat dinner or a certain time you choose to go to sleep for the night? Do you schedule all the activities in your life? And, if you or someone else tamper with or messes up that schedule, you will absolutely go bananas? My thinking about that is that is not to go bananas! I totally understand your first reaction, especially if you're going to be late for work or something like that.

I don't think God is bound by the same schedule we live by. Remember I said yesterday about him living in the eternal realm and having an eternal perspective? I think I said something about that. Anyway, I'm just saying he keeps a different schedule than we do.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in His time.
Something that is this difficult, I think, for people to grasp, myself especially, is that God has his own time. He's never early and he's never late. The big guy is always on time!
Greg Laurie says we may lose sight of God but he never lose sight of us!
I totally agree!

Who is the character from The Book of Genesis that I am remembering right now who probably knows the meaning of time? I am talking about Sarah! I was thinking about other characters but the Lord kept putting Sarah back in my mind.  She and her husband Abraham really wanted a child.  I understand they were happily married and they wanted to have a child. It makes sense right? However.....

Well, I'm pretty sure God knew that and since he knows the future he knew that Sarah was going to be with child one day. It just wasn't going to be anytime soon from what they thought.

I think one thing I want to point out is that even though Sarah did her own thing and followed her "human time"( I'm talking about Hagar.  Remember that story folks? ) Anyway, well despite that, God was still so faithful and so good he opened her womb and they were able to conceive and she gave birth to Isaac.  Their dreams came true and it happened all in God's time.

Habakkuk 2:3 ESV

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

Isaiah 40:31 ESV

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 27:14 ESV

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
