Just thinking about it now, it really puts in my mind how wrong that was. I'm pretty sure now that it was definitely some kind of a demonic influence. First of all, listen to what I'm saying, or I'm sorry, read what I am writing. Those things that were offering love, comfort, and security can only be offered by God,. not from things. And, God is only in your heart. He doesn't live in like pamphlets and pictures and jewelry and whatever you think he lives in. I repeat, he lives in your heart. That's all I'm going to say about that. I'll let the Holy Spirit speak to your guyses hearts now.
There is a story in the Book of Genesis about the Tower of Babel. Have any of you guys heard about it? Basically, the people in the whole country of Babel wanted to reach out to God and touch him. I guess they felt if they can get that close to God that any prayer they had would be answered. I have no idea.
However, what these people did was build a tower that basically reached up to the heavens. And this is a long time ago so when my husband showed me an artist's picture of the Tower of Babel I was pretty surprised with just how "not" big it was. Definitely not anywhere near the size of the Sears Tower or anything. In any case, who knows how big it was?
Anyway, so they did that and God got mad because what's the point? Remember the whole thing about God being in people's hearts? Interesting story, eh?
