Genesis Series Part 81: Chreasters

"Hallelujah, Jesus is alive! Death has lost it's victory and the grave has been denied. Jesus lives forever! He's Aliiiiiive!" This song will probably be blasting on people's car radios, computers, iPads , tablets, MP3s, iPods, I don't even know anymore LOL. The other day I was asking my husband if he can make me a CD with some songs I had in mind. He looked at me like I was crazy." "A CD?" he says. I seriously forgot that our technology was just so advanced, who uses CDs anymore? Lol oops. I forgot.

Anyway, today is what some people view as the Resurrection Day of Jesus Christ! We also say Happy Easter! How do you view this day?

Do you give more praise to the resurrection of Jesus Christ,? Or, are you more interested in the Easter Bunny and having Easter egg hunts, and filling Easter baskets with tasty Easter candies of all sorts?

When I first started dating my husband he introduced a word to me that I really never heard of. However, it made total sense. That was the word Chreasters. That word was referring to people who were seen at church only on Christmas or Easter

These " Chreasters" were basically kind of having two personalities. Maybe, they never professed to believing in Christ, yet on Christmas or Easter they would like to attend the Lord's house, maybe pretending to pray, sing praises and hymns to the Lord. And do whatever else they feel they need to do to please maybe their parents? I don't know everyone's different. You fill in the blanks.

My husband's testimony of how he came to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that he shared with the congregation many years ago was just so beautiful! I remember one thing he said. Before he came to having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he just did whatever his mom told him to do. He just knew he had to go to church because that's what his mom would tell him to do. He just knew he had to go or else. He didn't even know what or else was. He just knew that he didn't want to disobey his mom. What a good boy aye?

In my Genesis series, the serpent is what comes to mind when I think of someone with two personalities. You see what I mean? The serpent pretended like he cared and was concerned about Eve. He was saying he was going to be missing out big time if she didn't eat the fruit. The word entice comes to mind. He was all saying the forbidden fruit was good and she should taste it because she would enjoy it and blah blah blah. His personality was all just a bed of Lies!!!

Encouraging thought of the day:

Hallelujah, Jesus is Alive!
