Psalm 46:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exaltedamong the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
I will be exaltedamong the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Good morning beautiful faces! If you are reading this and you live in Chicago, are you in a good mood? I bet I know why! The weather outside is beautiful! Beautiful weather for beautiful faces! Hope that made you smile!
The title of my reading this morning is, don't have time. I should probably tweak that a little bit and put the word I. So the title
of my writing this morning is now I don't have time!
In the morning when I first wake up I go through my list of prayers for people and some other prayers. This is all done before bathroom stuff. In the middle I may be in the point of saying my prayers. my prayers, Joe's alarm goes off and he leaves and he reads his Bible devotion as well.
For a current example I'm going to use my husband. This man is all about following his time schedule. No, I'm not perfect so there will be times that I may disrupt his schedule. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
Folks I don't really have a nine-to-five kind of job anymore. For more than 10 years now. My normal wake up time in the morning can 3 a.m. ish. My guess of why that is? Well, the Lord had a time in mind for me. I would have time to spend time with him with prayer and devotion time to bathroom stuff by myself. My husband is pretty rapid and getting ready so I have to put extra extra effort to try to get ready so we can leave on time.
So, today I had to tweak my readings. Meaning I only read probably half of what I usually read. That is definitely okay. I can read the rest when I get to Starbucks. The extreme Focus is you not to have Joe late for work.
So, let's make a sample of God choosing to rearrange your time schedule at times. So don't get mad, frustrated, or any negative feelings because God is allowing you to switch times with something, then we have to trust that God will provide!
It's amazing when you trust in God in that way. I had a doctor's appointment at a specifi time. And I was running late with this with that. We ended up at the doctor's appointment late by a couple minutes. However my doctor was still with his patient before me so instead of me being late. The doctor was actually running late. See what I mean God will provide. We need to stop acting frustrated and getting angry over things we cannot control.
Another thing I want to add considering the deep thoughts about timing is this. We know we should have something done. Yet, we say out loud to ourselves, I don't have time! Sorry to say, I think that's a bunch of BS. Even when I say that to myself I don't have time. I'm just BSi
ng myself! Because I'm capable and knowledgeable of rearranging things I'm just too lazy. I just wanted to do something else.
Remember, I mentioned that me and my husband are going through the One Year Bible every night. Well we try to LOL. God knows our hearts
We were running late on reading our one year bible plan. I remember we really wanted to see a TV show..However, it was going to be late if we watched the TV show and then read the One Year Bible. So this is what God put in my heart to do. Turn on the TV to where the TV show is going to be on in 5 minutes. And then pause the TV so we can read Bible devotion and we can go back to the show. And we wouldn't miss a thing!
See where I'm getting at? Do you think you're being lazy? You don't feel like rearranging times so that you can make God your first priority? I've been there. I am trying not to be there. However I still go there.
Let me suggest some things to you guys. Really reading our one year Bible takes a half hour probably total. That is because there are Bible devotions from other authors that go with the reading of the Bible. Kind of like what I do. However not really an entire blog. So probably if you just read the Bible without other commentators thoughts, it would probably take you 10 minutes or so. Depending on how long the chapter is.
So yeah, what about you guys? What are your thoughts concerning time? Remember, I think it's not about not having time. It's more about not making yourself available or able to rearrange other priorities to take the time to know more about God!
