Wow, once in awhile I really get encouraged myself once I speak to somebody who I'm trying to encourage. So, of course I dropped my roller on black eyeshadow. I asked this gentleman Kevin to get it for me. Of course I gave him a card, and once he sees that I'm all about MS, he encourages me by saying how much of a supporter they are for this disease! Basically, him and his wife are avid supporters. His mother-in-law also has the disease. Of course, I could not help getting emotional so once he expressed his support. The hugger in me said give me a hug! Kevin, I pray that you will be encouraged by the writings! Thank you for your support for this disease. Have a wonderful day!
Moments later when I was putting my makeup away, of course I dropped another makeup. This time this gentleman was with his friend. He saw my makeup fall and he walked over by me and picked it for me. I think he was from Australia? Or, maybe I'm totally off. Sorry if I'm wrong LOL. I pray that you and Sarah will be encouraged by the writngs! Have a great day!
Okay, for today's writing, I'm going to speak to my phone as I usually do, to do vocal dictation on this. Educational degrees is always a Hot Topic. I want to share some of my "Deep Thoughts."
Of course, I think that getting a degree from high school, in college and maybe more can only benefit your life. It is always a positive perk and a good thing to say that you have a degree in whatever. So, yes basically I'm all for you getting one if that's what you desire. I feel the same way if that is not what you desire.
Personally, yes I went through Grammar School, middle school, then High School followed by college. I am an owner of a high school diploma and due to continued education in my early twenties at Moraine Valley Community College Northern Illinois University, and finally graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Then I worked as an intern copywriter at Daniel Ashley Communications here in Chicago. I had entry level jobs in recruiting, much sales jobs. And, I found out sales was not for me. I did learn a lot though from those sales jobs.
Then, from one of the jobs, a co-worker recommended me to her news director/friend, Mike at WBBM AM News radio. I was hired to become an assistant producer. That job was by far the best job I've ever had. Stupid young Samantha wanted more pay, benefits, more hours. And because of that, I left BBM for Careerbuilder doing none other than sales. What was wrong with me?
My latest job was around almost 10 years ago. I was a receptionist with marketing experience. I worked at a Plastics Company. That was like 3 years before I got laid off.
Now, I'm not working a 9-5 desk job unlike probably most people. So, another question is do I feel like those degrees were necessary? To answer that question I will say that I think God wanted me to fully educate myself and get great communication skills because of this. He knew what I would be doing 10 + years from my college graduation. He wanted me to have those skills because he had a purpose for me. Look At Me Now
He led me to this particular Starbucks. I have great relationships with the workers. The boss, Moira, encouraged me by saying Sam is part of the Starbucks family. Seriously, the other day she wanted me to meet one of the new employees here at Starbucks lol. I have met customers and will continue meeting people here. As long is I keep dropping stuff right? LOL
To reiterate, degrees are nice to have. Do you feel like your heart is telling you you need one? Personally, for me on the road to getting that degree, I became more educated so I would be able to fully craft my skills in communication. I communicate with other people here at Starbucks; in order for people to receive my cards and read about the word of God to them!
Basically, what I'm trying to tell you guys is God will have a purpose for our lives. Be encouraged because God will lead you the way to perfectly craft the skills we need for that purpose. If one feels they will get the skills by working on getting that college degree, then you know what you have to do.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares we Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I had to go back to give two nice ladies Becky and Sarah shout outs!
I asked this lady next to me Becky, and her friend Sarah if they can get me a stopper for my hot water. I gave them two cards and I pray that you will be encouraged by the writings! Thanks for the stopper. I usually get it because it spills! Thank you again ladies and be encouraged!
