Power Series Part 6: Power Of Faith

Oh, I had to come back to the writing for today so I can give a shout out to Debbie! 3:00 I came back from having a late Thanksgiving lunch with the in laws at Bob Chinns. She was our awesome waitress! Debbie, thank you for being so helpful and answering our questions. And, thank you for accepting my card. I pray you will be encouraged by the writings and have a wonderful day!

When one chooses to believe in Jesus they are basically and undoubtedly saying to others that they have ths faith in the name Jesus Christ. They have faith in what Jesus did for them. They have the faith that Jesus loves them. And, they have the faith that if we ask for forgiveness, we will be forgiven. They have the faith that when they die they will spend eternity with Jesus Christ in heaven.

There you have it. Faith. Simple right? Well....
I think one not so good deterrent that may keep someone from having faith is this. There are some people who are what you consider "logical." I'm not saying that's a bad thing to be. I don't think I'm one. Maybe a little. Some of the time? Not really though. LOL My husband doesn't think so. :-) He said I'm not going to do anything stupid. He says I act more with my emotions first before logic. I think that could be a good or bad thing. Depends on the situation.

I remember reading about a pastor who was saying he was pretty logical. If he was around in the time of Jesus, he probably wouldn't believe that Jesus came back to life unless he saw the holes in his nail-scarred hands and the holes in his nail scarred feet.

He said yes he saw that it just didn't make sense. That's because he was very logical.  He said he wanted to see proof! I wonder if I was around back then would I have had the faith, or would I want to see real hardcore evidence before I made  a decision?

To reiterate, I don't think being logical is a bad thing. However I do think one should not be too logical and let that stunt their faith.

John 20:25 NIV

So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
