I came to know Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at the age of 15. Do you think that was a good age to come to know Chrisf? You think its better to be older or younger when you ask Christ to live in your heart? Um, hmm personally I think the correct answer would be it would be better to ask him to live in your life earlier, because the earlier the better it is.
The more human or carnal part of myself says later in life. Because of the obvious reasons. Then, I also say it doesnt really matter. All that matters is we do accept Him.
I have heard of people who have accepted God at a young age. I have heard of people who have accepted God at an old age. I have heard of people that have accepted God on their Deathbed.
As you can see, you can accept God whenever you want to. The important part is that you accept him! Whether the age is young as a toddler or as old as someone on their Deathbed.
My pastor shared a story one time in one of the sermons, about this. His mother was so hard-hearted and never wanted to hear about the Lord. My pastor would share the gospel with her many times. But the mother was always negative and didn't want to hear anything about the Lord.
When she was on her deathbed, my pastor tried one more time. He shared the gospel story with his mother. Afterward he asked her if she wanted to accept Christ as her personal Lord and savior. The mother had a tear rolling down her cheek, and then she passed away.
That story always makes me tear up. Do you believe what I'm about to say? I totally believe it! And, that is there is so much power in the gospel story!
Let me ask you this. Are you someone that has heard the gospel story, and think oh wow it's a nice story. However, when you are asked if you want to dedicate your life to Christ, you are pretty hesitant, for whatever personal reasons you may have? All I will say is this. You better be pretty thankful that, that friend who knows Christ took time to share Christ with you. You are not guaranteed the next second. Christ can come back at any time. Maybe not today, or maybe not tomorrow, but someday. And, you need to be ready. Can you say that you are ready? Because really you need to be ready!
Revelation 16:15
15 (“Behold, I am coming like a thief!Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”)
