Pastor Greg Laurie said,"You should not always let your conscience be your guide. Your conscience can mislead you. Instead, you should let the Bible be your guide. This is the one absolute you can always stand on. This is the one absolute you can always be certain of."Good stuff aye? Yeah, pastor Greg Laurie probably knows already how awesome he is. He's the bomb! Indeed, probably good to hear that sometimes. Just a nice plug-in reminder to him. :) (I know it's not like he reads my blog. Perhaps he may if I email him? Doubt it. He's probably a busy man. Who knows? Maybe 1 day? What is it, I always say? With God Anything is Possible! Remember?)
That's interesting what Pastor Greg Laurie said. "You shouldn't let your conscience always be your guide." I got it we have to be careful.
Wait a minute. I just had a Deep Thought! You know how on the TV sometimes we see scenarios of an angel on one side of your shoulder telling you to do what God would probably like you to do. Then, on the other side of your shoulder, you would see a devil trying to make you think about doing something God doesn't want you to do. I think that's exactly how it is not necessarily on your shoulders but, in your mind. I don't know about you guys but personally, my mind gets jumbled up with good and bad thoughts all the time.
Remember God can put thoughts in your mind and God can read your mind. The evil one can only put thoughts in your mind. He cannot read your mind. However, I still say be careful because even though he can't read your mind he can see your non-verbal actions. And, the devil is smart and can most likely figure out your vulnerabilities. Then, attack those things to try to make you sin.
"You shouldn't always lelt your conscience be your guide." (GL) Folks, my dear friends, listen carefully and pay attention to what is going on in your mind. Is what you are thinking of going to result in committing a sin? That right there should make you believe that's not anything you should be entertaining. Please think deeply about that.
Your conscience definitely does have power. However, you are in control. We ultimately have the choice. Are we going to choose the action that will make God happy, or are we going to go for the action that won't make God happy? The choice is up to you.
