Thermometer or Thermostat

Play for the Audio Version

Shoutouts to three people I met this morning. After PT
 with Megan,
Glady and I decided to
wheel/walk o Marianos to get Giddy cat food  and other stuff. So, of course I was able to give out my cards. Zeran, Shirley, and Mariam,
thanks for accepting my card! And pray who guys will be encouraged by the writings. Have a great day!

Before I begin my reading, let me share a couple definitions.

Thermometer reads the temperature in a room.... It helps control the
temperature in the room by making small adjustments to heat or cool the room. If it gets too cold in the room
Thermostat adjusts and warms it up. If it gets too hot in the room the thermostat adjusts and cools it down. (Google Assistant)

Fellow Christians. Let me ask you a couple questions. How has your walk been with God lately? Oh okay. Now let me ask you another question. If your answer to my first question is, "oh not so good." Let me continue with a follow-up question and ask you this. What type of people have been in your presence lately? Believers like you fellow Christians or unbelievers?

Oh no I lied, I have another question. It's for you follow believers. Would you consider yourselves to be strong in your faith with God, strong in your relationship with God? You guys may be so strong, that nothing can tamper with your deep thoughts when it comes to God! Are you more like what famous Pastor Greg Laurie always says. A thermostat.

He said that World Changers are thermostats. "They control the temperature. They set the pace. They think for themselves."  ( Greg Laurie)

Meaning, you cannot be easily swayed or convinced by other people's opinions. The question depends on you. Can you easily have a change of heart? Can your beliefs change rapidly.
If that happens then I would say you are a thermometer.

Fellow Christians, if you are not getting what I'm saying yet? Please wake up because this is so important for your livelihood as a Christian. I am definitely not saying that you should solely hang out with Christians. Of course you can hang out with non-Christian Believers. That's just crazy talk.

I will say this. Fellow born again Christian believers, do you think that you are strong enough in your walk with God to utilize the knowledge of Jesus when you get in arguments? Are you truly ready to combat for yourself utilizing the power of scripture? Friends, are you considered a thermostat?

I have a little suggestion. Okay, maybe you are heading towards the direction of being a thermometer. If that's the case and you know you can be easily swayed into doing things you will later regret doing, try this.
If you're going to be around unbelievers, then perhaps a wise thing to do is to bring an accountability partner with you. You know what I mean?An accountability partner will make sure you have your head on straight, so to speak.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins ,- moral

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Galatians 6:1-5

  1. Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own bad1
