Before I begin let me do this.
I met some pretty cool people yesterday! Shout out to Kathy with a K! This really nice woman for getting me a straw for my coffee. Shout out to Lisa for getting my hot pack that fell on the floor.

Shout out to this really nice man named Brandon! He was at the table across from me! What had happened was I dropped my eyeliner on the floor. I kept saying excuse me to these people at the coffee fixing station. And, nobody acknowledged me. I just needed help getting my eyeliner that fell on the floor! So discouraging!
Thank you Brandon for getting the eyeliner on the floor for me.

Shout out to a new Starbucks worker, Jess. I pray that you three people that helped me yesterday would be encouraged by the writings!

I'm thinking this is going to be a rather controversial topic with some of you readers. Do you agree? How many times do you guys end up in a conversation with someone about the topic of Prayer and both parties end up in somewhat of a debate type of conversation.

You know, questions like does the higher power even answer prayer? Should you even pray? When or why should you pray? Where should you pray? What should you pray for? Oh, how funny! Would you look at that? Some are the 5 W's! Talking about the who, what, when, where, and why. Just some news room lingo I learned way back when I was an AP at WBBM years ago. I'm sure if my old co-workers Felicia Middlebrooks or Pat Cassidy were to read this, they would know exactly what I'm talking
about when I say 5 W's!

Or, even
The sports guy, Josh Liss, would probably know what I'm talking about too! Okay, the first thing I'm going to say is this. Plain and simple, loud and clear. The first W. That's who we should pray to. My answer is Jesus! ( our Father God almighty,
Creator of Heaven and Earth, Lord and savior to all!)

The second W is the (What)we should pray for. Now, to that question I would not be able to answer that. I mean I can give some ideas and some Deep Thoughts. However, everyone is different with their Deep Thoughts. So, I will let you guys fill in the blank when it comes to what we should pray for.

The third 'W' is the when. The fourth 'W'
Is the where. I think those two somehow coinci
with each other

This Deep Thought amazes me sometimes truly. I say that because I come across people who would only pray when they are in church. Well, there is a select few that would pray maybe before they go to bed. Kids praying before bed. But, seriously people tell me they only pray when they are in church. As if what? That is the only time God will hear you!?

(confused face).

I remember one time, this lady was telling me because I chose to go to church instead of another activity. She said, " oh pray for me when you get there." Again,

(Another Confused face)

Folks, did you know that God can hear your prayers anytime? That means you do not have to be in a holy place. Yes, you can even be on the toilet. And, God will hear you. Even if you do not choose to vocalize your prayer, God knows your deep thoughts

Oh, I have something else to add to the 3rd W. Remember the the When W. One thing that I have noticed with other people and myself included sometimes is this. We like to offer prayer to God based on our convenience. Meaning, we only pray if we are in dire need of the answer we want to happen. We only pray if we have time and we're not going to be late for another activity. Again we pray based on our convenience. What we should do is pray not on our convenience but in God's convenience which is all the time.

The fifth and final 'W' is the Y. Friends, why? Why is it exactly that we should pray? Well, the reason I think you should pray is because God really likes it. I do think that it makes him feel some type of way knowing that we have faith and we do trust that God is going to answer prayer. We believe that God knows what's best for our lives. What about you guys? When it comes to prayer are you making God feel like the ball is in his court? So to speak. I challenge you rice to incorporate the 5 W's in your prayer life. God promises to answer prayer. We just don't know how he will answer it. And are we going to truly be okay with the final outcome?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

John 15:7

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing,
