I am back! I had to come back because I have to give some shoutouts. First of all, shout out to Jennifer and Bree!
Me and Joe had dinner at this restaurant by our place called, "Replay." Jennifer was a nice hostess that got us a table. And, Bree was our waitress. Jennifer and Bree thanks for accepting my card and I pray you will be encouraged by the writings! Enjoy the rest of your evening!
This was yesterday at Starbucks! Before I start my writing, time for shoutouts! First shout out goes to Ariana! This nice lady got me a straw for my chai tea latte. Shout out to Jess! Thank you girl for getting me a stopper for my venti cup of hot water. And, what a surprise to me and Joe. We ate at O'Brien's on the Riverwalk downtown last night. He got off work a little early. We had a really nice waitress named Marina. Of course, I gave her one of my cards. Girl. oh the food was amazing by the way LOL. I hope you will be encouraged by the writings. Have a wonderful day!
Continuing on with the Promise Series. We're now at Part 5, which is his Promise to Meet Our Needs.
Am I leaving you in wonder of I am going to write this? Well, believe me I'm right there with you. Let's see how the Lord is going to make me write about this. Time to dive-in!
Well, my first Deep Thoughts about this is this. It is probably really simple for the Lord to meet our needs because he knows exactly what we need! Not to mention,He is God. Not to mention He can do anything! All the time! He knows more about ourselves then we even do.
My next Deep Thought is this.
Yes, it may be simple for the Lord. Sometimes it is far from simple for all of us. I dont know about you guys, but for me there have definitely been times when the Lord, oh yes was trying to meet my need. However, the
draw back and bittersweet reality meant that in order for my need to be met, I would have to get out of my own comfort zone.
I actually have the perfect example.
Well, minus the being taken out of my comfort zone part. Oops, maybe not a perfect example. Well, it's okay. Anyway let me stop my rambling.
I'm prettty sure that I mentioned something before about this out of my thousand + writings. I'm talking about more than 10 years ago...
Pause break! Shout out to this new Starbucks worker Kelai.Thank you girl for accepting my card and I pray that you will be encouraged by the writings! Have a wonderful day
Where was I? Oh , yes , that semi perfect example
So, I'm really thinking about how it is so apparent to me that the Lord God Almighty meets our needs right?
Well, let me share with you my personal example. Loyal readers of mine, remember
when I would talk about or write about early retirement? For you new readers, let me explain a little bit more. See, I really started working when
I was 14 years old. I was a waitress at a really good hamburger place by my house called Hamburger Hotline. Yes, I know that wasn't right to be working under the table. And that really didn't last long. My parents made sure of that. Unfortunately, to this day it is not standing. It's no longer in business.
During High School I had a more stable job working at my aunt's Bank as a teller. Honestly, I didn't really like High School so this happened. I actually graduated early and then went to a community college while at the same time working at a credit union as a teller. I know right? Thinking about that now that I was able to do that surprises me too.
After receiving my college degree with a bachelor's in communication, the economy wasn't that bad yet. I had an internship as a copywriter. Then, left that because I met someone there who could
connect me with the newsroom director who hired me as an ( AP) assistant producer for WBBM AM News Radio. Loved that job! Why I left that job? I have no idea. What is the sqying? Regrets I've had a few? No seriously maybe I left that job so I can write all about it in my writings.Stupid me left that job because I was young and stupid and wanted more more, more out of life. I'm talking about more money.
After that, it was like I became the Jill of all trades. Going from recruiter jobs, to many sales jobs to so many more sales jobs. Those sales jobs did not last more than 2 months. AKA Sam is not good with sales!
Pause break. Just came to mind. In one of my sales jobs I was praised,
acknowledged, and commended for making a really big sale one time. Then a couple weeks later they let me go lol. Again, Sam is not good in sales. Sales is all about meeting quotas. If you don't meet them then with no hesitatio, it is goodbye!
The last time I had a job was probably more 10 years ago. I was a receptionist with marketing experience. This job was okay. It paid the bills.
Got me out of the house, and speaking with people over the phone. Not to mention, I think God was using this 2 cultivate more my craft of both verbal and nonverbal communication.
I thought maybe this was it. This was going to be my life long career. The Lord had a different plan for me. Yup, I was wrong. After being there for some years the boss had to let me go. I was getting laid off. So long to this company.
You know what my deep thoughts were? Probably something like WTF. Maybe not in so many words or maybe? You all get the gist.
Years were going by and opportunities for careers were not coming my way. What was happening was that my MS was starting to get worse. Then, I kid you not, I felt God say to my heart he had different plans for me. As far as an 8 to 5 or maybe 8 to 12 job in the work force? I was done with that.
Now are your thoughts, so how did the Lord meet your needs Sam?
2 things that I will mention is first this. Everyone knows that Sam is a people person. She's very personable and down to earth.
Hence, she has a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Like how I am talking in third person here LOL
So, yeah I like to be around people. How he's provided? Over 10+ years I have been going to that Starbucks a few times a week. Either by myself or with my caregiver.
Doing this, I come across many people! Passing out my cards. Which will go to the second part I want to mention
Second part is I am a writer. I never realized how much I truly enjoy writing. And, with the Lord's help, usually the writing turns out pretty good. Of course only if I ask him!
Most everyday , I write! There are many other ways God provided for me in order for me to meet my needs. If you all would notice clearly each need that the Lord provided that I mentioned led up to this. He, the Lord God Almighty would receive all the glory!
My communicating with people at Starbucks? It was a way of introducing them to God? My writings in my Deep Thoughts From Samantha blog! Another way of introducing the name of Jesus to people I meet!
Do you guys see how awesome these deep thoughts are? What about you guys? Can you think of how the Lord provided for something you are no longer able to do? For me, that was a fun trip down memory lane thinking about the past. Remember I always say I do not have a good memory. I have a weird memory. Well, I believe the Lord will make me remember certain things at the times he wants me to remember them. Ask me this stuff tomorrow, I will have no memory LOL .
If you guys have a fun story when you went down your trip down memory lane, please share! I would love to read your own stories on how God met your needs!
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good .gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask hi.m!
Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
