Promise Series Part 12: Promise To Give Our Desires

Play for the Audio Version

Every now and then, I like to give the spotlight to my cat, Gideon (Giddy.) She is definitely a unique kind of cat. We did rescue her from the anti-cruelty society. It's a rescue because did you know they will kill you if nobody adopts you? Yeah I know right? " Anti-cruelty " ?

Anyway, one day last week, Glady took me to Mariano's so I can get Giddy some cat food. I got the soft kind that she usually really loves. And, decided get the hard kind as well They were called Friskie's.

The following day Joe first fed her the soft food early in the morning before he went to work. Then he gave her the hard food, the Friskie's. After she was done eating, Joe said she was acting so weird. And, I was half surprised and asked how so? He said, that he thinks she really liked the Friskie's food that we got her. She usually leaves some for the day. However today she ate it all. I said, " Oh, that's good! What, is there a problem?"

Joe said, "No. Well, she just really liked the food and I mean really." I was all confused. He said, she kept meowing like continuously. I still was confused. Then he said it was like she was having a "meowgasm!" Then, I was no longer confused. That's all I will say about that.

That story reminded me of this. When we choose to delight ourselves in the Lord oh, he will give us the desires of our heart. Just like Giddy chose to chose to Delight herself in us, her owners. The opposite words for delight is displeased or disgust. Oh no, I do not think that Giddy is disgusted by her new food we give her.

Let me end with this. So, this morning is Labor Day and Joe's home because he has no work. I asked him how does he spell the word Friskie. He looked at the cat food and told me and then looked at Giddy and asked her does her mouth water every time we say the word Friskies? LOL

Psalm 37:4

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart

Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
