DTFS Promise Series Part 32: Promise of Forgiveness

Play for the Audio Version

Attention! Correction I think in my audio I said the last thing Jesus said before he died was wrong. I actually included the right thing in the Bible verse at the bottom. Guess I just said the wrong thing. Anyway, just wanted to clarify that. :-)

Boy, have I got a story to tell you guys! And, as always going to try to be as discreet as possible. That means, no names! No specifics! Really nothing that will disclose any of the like.

My loved one told me this story. So, anyway hope I'm not forgetting anything. Anyways, basically I know my loved one who has a loved-one who is authorized to terminate someone from the job. This person was that of a "Boss." If this person found their worker to not be living up 2 the definition of a loyal employee, then of course it makes sense 2 cordially say goodbye to the this person and to let them know they're no longer welcome in coming back to working their job.

AKA they got fired!
About a week later, the boss's motor vehicle was hot-wired and stolen. They're not for sure it was the ex-employee that was the culprit of the incident. The boss did share many secrets pertaining to the car with this person. More importantly, how to start it!

I know! I heard the whole mastermind was a mega car chase on the highway between the cops and the people trying to drive away with the car! It could have been in a movie!
When I heard that story I thought that was definitely not a case of forgiveness.

Well, like I said we don't know specifics. So, we're not pointing any fingers. At least not until there is concrete evidence. However, if that
....then I see this like more of an instance of really bad "Revenge!"

This whole story does put in my mind the story of the events leading up to the death of Jesus. Jesus is God the son. So, he really didn't even have to go through such painful agony. In turn, leading to death! But, he did.

He wasn't planning on Revenge on people very badly hurt him mentally
and tortured him physically. Repeat he forgave them like he can forgive us if we just invite him to come live in our hearts!

And twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.

Luke 23:33-43

And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!” The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” ...

John 19:28-30

It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Luke 34:43

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. ..

Mark 15:34

  • My God, My God, why have you forsaken me

Amazing Love
