F Over F

  • Play for the Audio Version

I am pretty sure I have talked a little bit about my reading before. And, I'm going to write about it more again today. Apparently, what I plan on writing about today is pretty important if I want to revisit the topic. I'm going to talk about faith over feelings.

My husband and I have been married 12 years come this September! I know! I can't believe it either! When me and my husband were still in our early years of dating, and still getting to know each other there were probably many times either of us kind of nervous speaking to each other. That made sense. We hardly knew each other back then.

Now, if one of us were to refuse to speak to one another because we were feeling nervous or afraid? Me or Joe would think there was something wrong with the other person.

Same thing about the relationship with God. Meaning, feelings can mislead us. The Bible says the just will live by faith.  It doesn't say the just will live by feelings.

Picture this. Remember, in a Christian Life Christians walk  by faith. If we go to Church Sunday morning but we just don't feel like worshipping. I don't know, maybe you could be tired from the night before? That could be an iffy example. I have no idea what you were doing the night before that made you tired. However, I do know that you chose to go to church and participate in the worship time of the service.

Feelings aside, we need to worship our God! To reiterate, we need to worship God! Whether we
feel like it or not!

Are we choosing
to follow Jesus? If so. then we need to start acting like children of God. We need to start being good representatives of what a true born again Christian is because our testimony is what others will see. If those others are not born again Christian believers, we need to be very mindful of what we're letting them see. If we were in their shoes and were not born again Christian believers, would we like what we saw? Would we want to become a born-again Christian?

Let me end my
reading with some words from Pastor Greg Laurie. I once read his thoughts about having a smartwatch. He was talking about those watches that record your steps. And, he was saying wouldn't it be cool if there was something like that, that would tell us to pray, read the Bible. Kind of keeps us on track of our spiritual lives. I think yes it would be pretty cool!

Romans 1:17 NIV

Fo²¹r in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Micah 6:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
