Hey are you a good listener? Personally, I think that I'm an okay listener. I think I am not such a good listener either sometimes. According to me, i'm not Not listening on purpose. Sometimes it's difficult for me to keep attention. I sometimes get easily distracted.
I think I am doing a little better though than before. I am sure there are other people out there that are worse off than me. Or, far better a listener than me.
I tell you, it truly amazes me when I see how well people listen. Seriously, I guess with all the crap happening in my brain cells? Sometimes I feel like I have some type of ADD or something. You know, attention deficit disorder.
Anyway, what if we look at listening like this. Let's say you are minutes away from jumping out of an airplane? Or, you are going sky diving or bungee jumping. You will probably be making sure you are listening. Listening very well to directions of what to do!
I know that I definitely would not want to miss out on any directions regarding what to do. Because my life depended on it. Yup.
Now, let's think about listening to the word of God. Well, maybe it's better to say paying attention to what you read in the word of God. So, following His directions.Yeah, again your life does depend on it. More like your life after leaving the Earth depends on it! Yup!
Let me end with some words from Pastor Greg Laurie. He says this. "If you want to be a disciple of Jesus, then you will carefully read, study, and live according to God’s Word. Let's take a look at some Bible verses.
