Selfless

Play for the Audio Version

I am pretty sure there are people out there including myself that sometimes will have this type of attitude. 1st of all other people have no idea what is going on in the world of "this person." Honestly? these people just want to be left alone sometimes.
Why? I really wouldn't be able to tell you. Maybe they just lost a loved one? Maybe, they woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Maybe they just lost their job? Maybe they were experiencing food poisoning and their tummy really hurts. Perhaps, they are just really having a bad day? Could be anything.

Some people just don't care. Maybe they really need help physically. Or, they are in need of some good advice.

Pause break. What comes to mind is this one caregiver I had a few days while Glady was out of town. Her name was Anna. She was nice. She was the sister of a guy that likes to dress up like spider-man. Yeah that was random.

One day her phone kept ringing. She was getting really stressed and sad. I guess different people kept calling her and stressing her out. I remember she was in tears and just blurted out, "What about me and my problems?" I said, " what's wrong?" Then she told me
she is sick of people always calling her and dumping out their problems on her! She said she had problems too and, nobody wants to listen to her problems. They just keep telling their problems to her.

What comes to mind is the Bible story of Jesus and his friend John the Baptist.
Jesus Iost his friend John because Herodius wanted John's head on a silver platter. So, that was quite unfortunate. Poor guy. He didn't even do anything.

Of course, Jesus being human was sad! The normal reaction for any human is to feel so sad if they lost a loved one! When something tragic like that happens to anyone, all they want is time alone probably. Time not having to do anything but just collect their thoughts. Just give the person time to grieve!

See, that's not what the people did with Jesus. People still kept crowding over Him. People still kept bothering him asking him to heal them and do whatever they would need. It was like "Let the man breathe!"

And, what did Jesus do? Jesus didn't care. Jesus didn't care about himself. This guy chose to give so much compassion to other people. Jesus
was so selfless! And he put aside his own feelings and had compassion for the other people
