Or. maybe you think like this- [ I have not actually spoken to God in so long. I don't think He will listen to what I have to say . Or, cares] Are you thinking, maybe, I will ask one of the Saints for help like St. Peter or St. John. I KNOW! I should ask Mary his mom to help me!] Or, [ I don't need any of God's help. I can figure this out on my own!]
Does that sound like something you would be thinking? What? Am I tickling your brain? Personally, I do know of people who think exactly like what I described. Actually, before I became a born again Christian, I used to think exactly like that too.
OK, for those thinking you're going to be bothering God with your problems? Or, He won't listen because you haven't spoken to Him in so long? Let's take a look at these Bible verses.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burdens on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
1 Peter 5:7
1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
For those of you asking Saints or others spirits for help? Check this verse out!
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world
Wait, the Bible even has something to say about praying to Mary. Well, in addition to the bible versus already mentioned. John 2:5 says: His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.
And, Oh, so you think you can do-it-yourself? You say you don't need God to help? The Bible says.
John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Stop doing it all yourself and cast your cares and burdens on God! Stop calling on other spirits if you need help! God the Father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit is all one needs. That is what the Bible says. Do you believe in The Bible? If the answer is no? Then, I am thinking, Houston we have a problem.
