Spotted lantern flies in the spring and appear as wingless nymphs that hop around to feed and molt. Once they perform their final molting as an adult, they are red on its its wings that flashes when it flies. But, its beauty is a bit deceptive. This insect, first seen in the US in 2014, is considered invasive to North America, which means it has the potential to harm the environment and economy.

The lanternfly will eat the innards of practically any woody plant, which includes cherry and other fruit trees, and leaves a sticky goo that leads to mold—killing trees outright or leaving them with little energy to grow fruit" ( Alyson Keda,  Daily Bread)

What comes to mind is when Eve got deceived by the serpent. This serpent was making Eve doubt and not believe what God said.

The serpent was saying, " did God really say you can't eat from any tree in garden?" Eve said, "No God said we can eat from the trees. But, do not eat fruit from the tree in the  middle. We must not touch it or eat from it. Or, we will die.

The Serpent said you're not going to die. God knows if you eat from it then your eyes will be opened. You will be able to see/know like God.

Now, Eve's mindset totally changed. She thought the fobidden fruit was pleasing to the eye and desirable for gaining wisdom. So, she took some (touched it, and took a bite.) Then, she gave some to her husband. And, he did the same thing.

Genesis 3:7‭-‬9 NIV

" The eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then, the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord coming back to the garden in the cool of the day. They hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. The Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
