Why God? Why?

It's Thanksgiving! A time to remember what the Lord has given us. This day is to really express your thankfulness to God and share with family and friends how awesome God is! 

Friends, what are you thankful for? Did you know that we need to be thankful for the good and the other stuff. I get it. I can see people giving thanks to God for getting that A+ on the exam. Or, that promotion one just got at work! 

However, I don't really ever hear about people giving thanks to God when they just heard bad news. For example what if instead of the student getting an A+ on the exam, they got an F-? Or, instead of the adult getting a promotion at work? They actually lost their job and got fired. 

Not exactly going to feel thankful then are you? Nope. I didn't think so. Well, you know what? If that is the way you are thinking? Then, I need to make sure I tell you this.

We need to be thankful in all circumstances. You see sometimes God doesn't allow good things to happen. He may allow bad stuff to happen though.

I am thinking God allows death of loved ones. I am thinking God allows divorce in a marriage. I am thinking maybe a person will be diagnosed with a terminal illness. 

Folks, we humans don't know how the mind of God works. However, I really do think that God appreciates when we have faith. Especially in him. Then, when something bad happens? People would be thinking that God must have our best interest in mind! That must be why He is allowing this bad thing to happen. Must be!

Psalm 107:1

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" 

Psalm 7:17

"I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High."
