What are you guys doing? I am speaking to myself as well when I ask that question. I calI it friend and self-motivation.
The other day was New Year's eve/day. The time when many people might begin New Year's resolutions. The operative word being might.
Let me use the ever-popular New Year's resolution of planning on losing weight.They will promise they will go to the gym more. So many say that. Right? I know there was a time when I said and made that vow. And, I don't remember following the regimen religiously. However, I do remember saying I would.
Our gym membership card may have been swiped on the machine 3 times. Or, maybe at the most 7 times. Then, probably the next time will be when you plan on losing holiday weight again. Maybe next year? Who knows?
I could be wrong because everyone is different!
Here goes a Deep Thought. How about this year instead of making New Year's resolutions that probably won't last a month? Because people will probably not end up following them? Why don't we focus on making a resolution? A resolution is to make a firm decision to do or not to do something.
I think you know where I'm going with this. I am a firm believer that believes everyone needs Jesus! So, I propose thinking about your future.
What? You don't want to? News Flash! You have to! It is something that will be coming. We just don't know when.
I get it. I heard and seen it from other people. Some people are just scared to do that. They hide their fright of dying behind a masquerade of anger. You know what I am talking about? Is that you?
Are you one that wants to live their life the best way they can? If so, there is nothing wrong with that. Well, just be careful. Showering oneself with a boatload of money. Not really caring how they get the money but just as long as they have it. Luxurious vacations may be the missing link to their happiness. Pair that with fame and fortune and you are living the life right! I mean you are living your best life!
Oh yes friend then what? So, this good thing may come. Then that awesome thing. Then, so on and so forth.
One sunny or. stormy day or night may come. You may be a young lad or not so young. You are about to take your last breath here on this Earth.
That is gonna be a surprise.
Oh no! Friend, you were not prepared. Aka you were not ready! You heard about Jesus. He sounded like a cool guy. However, some of the other stuff you heard he did is kind of outrageous. So, not truly a Jesus believer.
Knowing about Jesus. Hearing all about how awesome Jesus is and thinking He seemed like a pretty cool dude? Not the same as actually knowing Jesus.
Knowing Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour. Inviting him into your life to be the ultimate king of year heart.... Acknowledging that you are a sinner that needs a savior.... Accepting His gift of forgiveness and trusting you will spend eternal life
With Jesus in heaven!
Have you done that? Do you believe that? Or, are you afraid of death? Afraid because you really don't know if you have something good to look forward to? Jesus can fix that and it's up to you if you will let him! WILL you?
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
