Nope. Definitely not my 1st thought. What about you guys? You are probably like what are you talking about Sam? Sorry let me 1st explain.

Basically, let's say someone did something bad to you that really ticked you off. Or, let's say someone did something really bad that hurt you? Basically, something not so nice happened and affected your life. 

According to my Deep Thoughts? Whatever took place was definitely not a good thing. Nope it definitely was not. 

Now, what comes to mind are these words from the bible. "Do not be overcome by evil. But, overcome evil with good." Romans 12:21.OK, Well now we know how God feels about the subject. He says how he feels in the Bible. 

OK, let me slowly say this. So, I can make sure I'm understanding this correctly. I have to repay evil with good? So, if someone was to kill my friend then I am to be grateful and tell them thank you? If someone were to kill a close family member? I am to bake them a cake to show my appreciation? 

I know that is so crazy! The person that hurt you does not deserve to get a personally baked cake from you! The cake can just be store bought! Well , I think the point is not really how the cake was made. I think the fact that you were doing a nice gesture by giving the person a cake is really the point. That's what's important.

Personally, I think it's difficult to reward someone for hurting you. Or, causing you pain. Like I said in the beginning sentences of this writing. Honeys that is definitely not my 1st thought. I think that most people think the opposite. Some people don't think of repaying evil with good. 

I think when most people are treated unfairly they probably choose to retaliate and pay back evil with evil. I mean everyone is different. You do have that select few that maybe pay back evil with good. However, I don't think that's a big number. Just watch the 10 o'clock news. 

Wow you know what I thought of? I just thought about Jesus. He probably knows exactly what I am talking about. We humans hurt Jesus all the time. 

We hurt him when we sin. We hurt him when we are disobedient. We hurt him when we choose not to believe. Jesus is the ultimate example of what God is talking about. 

Do you know what would happen in our world if more people would follow this example from Jesus? Well, yes a lot less sadness from the 10 o'clock nightly news. Yes, dear Jesus please help us all to contribute less in making the nightly news more entertaining!

Romans 12:17-21

Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evily
