Words Are Not Enough

Play For The Audio Version

There was this one time I heard a story about a missionary and this one lady. It was really interesting to me. It made me think of the way I can be sometimes when trying to tell people about Jesus.

I guess even if people did not go to school to become missionaries? Born again Christian believers should know that their work is to tell people about Jesus. It does not matter where they are. And, no matter wgho the person is.

No, you are wrong. Yes, I most certainly meant to say no matter who the person is. That means even if the person is an authority figure looking to kill Christians.

Born again Christian believers must share the good news about Jesus! Yeah, look at me. I confidently say that now that I will tell people who can kill me about Jesus.

However, put me in the situation? Wìll I feel the same way? Or, will I chicken out? Death is a pretty strong argument!

All I know is that it will be a pretty strong test of my faith. I definitely will address that more in another writing. Let's go back to the story I was telling you about.

So, this missionary was telling this lady about Jesus. And, this lady was homeless by the way. Her response surprised this missionary. She told the missionary something like this. Jesus sounds good and stuff but is he gonna give me food right now? She was hungry.

Hospitality immediately came to mind. And, the well known acronym, " WWJD. What Would Jesus Do?

So, then I thought this. Isn't Jesus in Sam? OK, then if Sam is gonna talk to a homeless lady about Jesus? Then, buy her a donut too while we talk. So, she would not be distracted by feeling hungry.

She would notice more that the person telling her about Jesus? She also cared about her enough to give her a donut.

Friends, to reiterate sometimes words are not enough. You know what? I am now feeling like I want a donut!

Good thing Glady brought me one yesterday morning. I actually didn't end up eating it yesterday. But I saved it for another day when I would be hungry for a donut.

I guess God knew that I was going to be doing my writing today that spoke about donuts. So, I guess that's why he put in Glady's heart to get me a doughnut yesterday. You better believe I will be eating that doughnut today!

Matthew 12:34–35

Jelsus reminds us that the words we qspeak are actually the overflow of our hearts
