Discerning What Is False Series Conclusion; Thought From A Friend

Good morning Deep Thoughts From Samantha readers! My friend had a few comments regarding this mini series I did.  Here are the thoughts....

?????

Discernment is more than knowing what is right and wrong. This is moral discernment. Christians who have the gift of discernment oftentimes are also more sensitive to the spirit world. They can differentiate between bad spirits and good spirits and they can also sense if the Holy Spirit is present in a certain gathering or person. As Christians, we are more attuned to  the spirit world because of the Holy Spirit within us.

Spiritual discernment helps us to know if we are dealing with a spirit from God or not. This is something that people with this gift can feel within them. For others who do not have the gift, it is still possible to discern spirit through careful reference and study of the Scriptures. However, for people with the gift of spiritual discernment, it could be a feeling of pressure or heaviness that leads them to know that there is a certain bad spirit around. Sometimes, it could be a weird feeling in one's hand when touching an object. It could take forms but the end is the same: they can discern spirits.

So, me and my friend Andrew went to the West Virginia State Penitentiary, an abandoned prison that was closed down in 1995. It has the reputation of being one of the bloodiest institutions in the United States. Paranormal experts have always come to the prison and have always caught a lot of paranormal activity. The creepiest and scariest part of the flashlight tour was the boiler room of the prison, where murders have taken place between inmates. Andrew and I found this little room within one of the prison's turrets and we stayed there, looking around and feeling for something. When we descended into the boiler room, I had this strange heavy feeling enveloping my body, as if it was weighing me down. For someone who is a bit more sensitive, I knew right there and then that there was a heavy presence of dark spirits around me. Inside the turret, we leaned back on the wall and waited as we accommodated other tour people who were taking pictures and looking for paranormal activities in their photos themselves. Right when the last one left, I heard a rustling noise, like someone in a boot scratching his soles on the ground. I did not move my feet and neither did Andrew. Then, an overwhelming feeling of coldness and presence swept my back, even though I was leaned against the wall. That's when I knew that some presence is with us, so Andrew and I hurriedly left the turret room. Andrew said he felt it, too. The world of spirits is something that we, as Christians, are attuned to and are sensitive to because of the Holy Spirit within us.
