This writing is directed to those who are regular attenders of their church of choice. First of all, I guess you must have a good reason for why you go there right? Aside from being too young to make certain decisions like going to whatever church you want, you choose to go to that church. So, your choice is justified by the fact that you enjoy your church right? I hope so! I touched a little bit on churches in previous writings. I know people who choose not to go to church at all because it bores them to death, the music puts them to sleep, the pastor, minister, reverend, or priest is too boring. Whatever your reason.
I was thinking about it, and I don't think God wants us to be bored when we come together to a place and worship Him. In a perfect world there would be one church that everyone could go to where they would be very happy right? Well, we don't live in a perfect world remember? I think that's why God allowed His children to choose their choice of church. I strongly believe that your choice of church should first be bible believing and especially Christ centered. Once you find a church like that, wait and let the spirit speak to your heart if you should continue to go and grow in that church.
Now, I am definitely not saying once you find that wonderful church that you felt lead to regularly attend or be a member of you are guaranteed a problem or conflict free future from that point on. Nope, that would be reverting back to that perfect world again. God knows things aren't going to be smooth sailing 24/7.
I also have to throw this in because I really didn't think about how important this was until my pastor brought it to my attention in one of his sermons. And, that is me going to church may benefit and encourage others. In the recent past, people in my church have approached me. Some have known me for a long time and some have not. But, these people totally encouraged me by saying they felt encouraged because they see me, a woman suffering with MS, going to church and just living for God. They notice when I am not there and wonder. Now, that definitely encourages me. You see where I am going with this?
I enjoy going to church Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings. That's what it should be like. I think that's what God wants it to be like. I am not going to say I enjoy every meeting I have or that I am always happy to go to church. That would not be true. But, I just think it is absolutely crucial that one truly does enjoy their church of choice. Friends, we are going to a place where we are supposed to praise and worship our God, and I don't think He wants his children harboring bitter feelings either regarding the church or people in the church. Please think about that.

It's nice going to a church where people genuinely shake your hand and when they ask how you are, you can just tell they really care. Or, you really do feel the love in the hug you get from other people. Maybe when it's time for handshakes or hugs odd spaces or the slight grazing of hands given to you by others seem so ridiculous, it makes one think, do they think I have a contagious disease that they should be afraid of!? Perhaps, this verse could be of help to some people and really make one think.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV).
Are you going to a dead church?
