Sometimes Encouragers Need Encouraging Too

I remember several years ago taking a spiritual Inventory test to get my spiritual gifts. And, I remember getting faith and exhortation (aka encouragement) amongst others. My husband told me the other day I encourage people. My pastor once told me he gets so encouraged by me as well. And even one time at church one of the members I don't really know told me it was so encouraging to see me and my husband every Sunday or Saturday knowing that we drive all the way from the north side to the south side for church. So, I believe I'm at least trying to be that encourager to other people. I gotta have the help of the Holy Spirit.

I love when people tell me they are encouraged by what I do. Sometimes I don't even realize what I am doing encourages people. And even sometimes, I just feel like this stranger or friend needs to see a smile or just be greeted with a Hi or have a blessed day! Example, earlier we went to McDonalds for breakfast and Joe ordered food from the drive thru and I noticed the lady looked so down. So, from the passenger side I leaned forward and yelled thank you and have a blessed day! I know that the Holy Spirit was tugging at my heart. Wow, her demeanor changed to a nice smile and her face looked so much brighter! Friends, I just may have made that girls morning! Who likes to get up super early and work? Oh my husband just yelled out he does! Lol

When I read my daily bread devotional this morning it was about the 5k run. Now, for me since I have my little disability, I wouldn't even think to ever enter that. However, there was this story in my reading about a disabled person like me who couldn't walk that whole 5k run. And, pardon me as I can't help but tear but this person the friend or significant other I forget turned it into a 5k ride. The friend pushed this person almost the whole 5k if not for the disabled persons request to get up and just walk half a block away from the finish line. This disabled person completed the race by walking the rest of the way and reached the goal! Are you now balling like me? Oh, friends I want to do that next year!

That really encouraged me. To be blessed with reading that story! Friends sometimes the encouragers really do need some encouraging! I know anything is possible with God yes! And hearing how the disabled person was determined to do something and not have the disability stop them, wow that's how I feel!

To end this writing, I really hope all who read this we're encouraged and smile because I love you and Jesus loves you!

Ephesians 4:29 ESV
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
