In my before knowing Christ years, let me ask myself some questions-
1. Did I know what the bible was?
Answer: Yes, well kind of...
2. Did I read the bible?
Answer: Not really, unless I had to.
Now for questions for me after knowing Christ-
3. How do I see the bible now that I do know Christ?
Answer. I see the bible as God's words to me.
4. Do I read the bible now that I do know Christ?
Answer: I try at least once day.
Friends, what a difference right?
I see the bible as the words of God that I need in my life. I know there may be times that I may forget to read or have whatever reason I don't read. But, you know what I think though? I think there is no excuse for me not to read. Friends, you know there are times when I feel like so down or just like my life is in a slump. And, I feel in my heart God is telling me to read His words. He has something He wants me to see that will be comforting to me. Then when He leads me to a passage, an example Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV) It truly is comforting and makes me feel better! Maybe, it will not work for everyone, But it works for me! I believe there is power in the word of God! I really do! :)
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
