Spicy Food

Do you like spicy food? I like spicy food sometimes. Like, buffalo hot wings from Tedino's or Chicago Pizza but only doused in ranch dressing. I find it kinda tames the spice just enough to be really delicious which tempts me to eat it because I find that I am able to tolerate the spice. I think even though I try to cover it up, it's still there you know? I do know that my body and the doctors tell me my body doesn't like it. The same goes for citrus and caffeine and other stuff. Some stuff like citrus-y drinks really affect me, therefore, I will never forget to pass on citrus drinks. Sometimes, Joe will remind me to what certain foods will do, therefore he suggests I don't eat it. I appreciate that. But, we have to remember it's no one else's responsibility to make us choose what to do, even if someone is holding a gun to your head.

I think that's kind of like how we view the bible right? There are commands in there that God clearly states we should follow, but for whatever reason we won't follow all his commands. We think certain sins are not as bad as other sins, But, friends all sins are viewed in God's eyes all the same. Bottom line is he just doesn't want us to do it! I think because we are just tempted by what the end result will bring.  That's how we get enticed.  Like, in my case, the spicy food was just so tasty. Like you know how God says don't kill? I find that that's so easy to do. But, He also doesn't want us to use His name in vain or say cuss words. And, there are plenty times, when I fall in that department. But, friends and Sam, it's in God's word so we have to follow everything He says right? We can't sugarcoat or just like in my case remember not to eat citrus but occasionally eat spicy food! All of God's commands are Gods commands and He wants us to remember and to follow each and every one of them to the core. No excuses!

Romans 3:23 ESV

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

James 2:10-11 ESV

For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

Proverbs 28:13 ESV

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
