How Are You?

Before I start my writing, remember I mentioned that I always get a bag from Starbucks when I'm here so I can throw my garbage away? It would be such a challenge and struggle for me to get up and wheel over to the other side of the room just to throw my garbage. Well, since it is so windy when the door opens, my bag fell on the floor. So, I was looking around to see who the Lord was telling my heart to ask for help. Then I finally saw this girl that passed by me, and she was so nice! No wonder the Lord wanted me to wait. I just want to give a shout out to Alyssa. Alyssa said that she really appreciated the card and so encouraged me! Even her friend Dana was so nice and she also encouraged me. It was such a pleasure meeting you ladies. I pray and hope you will be encouraged by my writings.

Look at my title. Isn't that the question that usually follows after perhaps saying hello, hi or what's up?  Right? I am thinking there are people right now who are verbalizing it just to see what I mean. LOL It's like an automatic thing. It just goes with the Greeting.

Why am I pointing this out? Well, over the weekend my Pastor shared with us a story about the answer to the question how are you from a pretty famous and very well-known person.  Pastor Gerry shared with the congregation this past Sunday morning a story about Elvis Presley in an elevator with another pastor.

Does it sound like it's getting interesting? Okay, without dragging it out any longer, let's continue with the story.  So, like I said Elvis Presley was in an elevator with the pastor. They greeted one another and probably just like any Pastor would say. He said something to the effect of this. "So, Elvis, how is your spiritual life or walk with God?"  This is what Elvis said. He said something to the effect of and not verbatim because I don't really remember. But, what I do remember is his response being to the effect of living the worldly life is "just more fun."

Which one of my beautiful readers believes that? You don't have to lie because it's not like we all know what you're thinking. Well, maybe if your personal friends are here too. Those people are an exception because they may know your thoughts.

Friends, I agree, living the worldly life is more fun. God loves all us people so much that he created this world so we can be happy and have fun. However, he did give us a list of rules, commands, he wants us to follow along with the fun.

Let me give an example. Okay, God created me for my husband and vice versa.  He says that wives need to be submissive to their husband and for the husbands to love their wives. I'm thinking there are people reading this now that say I do submit to my husband and I do love my wife.  If that is the case for you, then I say good for you!

Please ask yourself, are you following the world's way of love and respect? Or are you following God's definition of love and respect? And, yes, there is a difference between the world's way and God's way.

The world may have certain exceptions to those two words. However God has it pretty laid out in the Bible how he wants you to follow that. I'm going to end my writing now. And please check out more, elaboration in the Bible. Have a great day!
