Several months ago I was a customer at Golden Nugget. It's a 24-hour diner. Perhaps very similar to other restaurants, the waitress/bus boy leave a glass of ice water on the table where they want customers to sit at.
One day when I was there, I knocked down the water. Immediately I used my hands to try to catch the water and the ice. Why would I even do that? I don't know it was just on impulse. I should have just left it alone since they're going to bring me another water anyway. And they're going to clean that mess. However, I didn't so I had to suffer the consequences: cold and wet hands!!
What did this thought remind me of? Let me tell you. Doesn't it say in the Bible that God wants us to cast all our anxiety and burdens and blah blah blah on him because he knows it's too much for us to handle? Similar to it being impossible for me to grab all the water, it's pretty impossible to overdo things that we just can't handle. That's where God comes in. He promises to help us. Why? Remember he said Cast all anxiety on him? Why? Because he cares for you. God says he wants us to cast all anxiety and him. Not some, but all!
I can think of a few people right now who choose to just overwhelm themselves. I'm thinking God knows that if we become too overwhelmed we're going to be mean to others either mentally or physically. Maybe, our head would just explode because there would be so much we would have to worry about.
I think God does not want that to happen to us. Friends, if you feel overwhelmed then give it all to God. Take advantage of the people God put in your life to help you. Remember, he knows exactly how you feel. Have you done that yet?
