Idols Part 1: Figurines

Good morning and happy Tuesday. It is actually a good day for me just because. I'll probably tell you guys later. Anyway, before I start my writing for the day, I want to give a shout out to Tyler. This doesn't happen all the time but I knew Joe was going to be late for work so I told him to just leave and I got everything because sometimes I do fix everything up. Anyway, remember how I always get a bag so I can throw my garbage in it? Well, that bag fell. And, this nice man without me even asking yet named Tyler asked me if it was my bag and got it for me. Then, a few minutes later I wanted to get a card. But, surprisingly they were not in my pouch. So, I was figuring that maybe God does not want me to get it. And, then I had an urge to look in my purse. There were some in the pocket in my purse. I forgot I actually put some in there for emergency in case a time like this would ever happen.  So, yes I gave it to him. He was so nice! I pray you are encouraged by my writings. Remember to start the day with encouragement! Now, it is time to write!

For today's reading, I'm going to write about idols. Are you thinking about those figurines of Mary the mother of God, maybe the three wise men, Jesus, and basically anyone from those times. Is that what you guys think when you hear the word idol? I'm thinking you guys are right. That would define an idol. You Beautiful People are right!

Now, I'm going to add a little of my deep thoughts regarding. that. God is really strict in what he does say in the Bible about not wanting us to worship idols. He does not want to see us worshiping idols carved in an image of something or someone.  A few years ago, I remember feeling confused about the whole thing. I am not going to talk about specifics cuz I don't want to call anyone out. So, as I was saying I was confused

Hey, actually it's my husband who shed some light on the subject because, I was so confused.  Some of these people practicing other religions are worshiping idols even though they think they're not.  It specifically says in his word don't bow down and worship idols! The loved ones say they are not actually worshiping idols. So, I believed them. I don't know what's in their heart.

Joe told me to think about what is the definition of worshiping. Then he pointed out that why do people kneel down to these figurines? Why do these people give so much love and adoration to these figurines by dressing them up with pretty flowers or other nice things?

To reiterate, I don't know what's in other people's hearts. I only know what's in my heart. And, if you do participate in those things, I don't think God would like to see that. Okay personally, my heart is telling me we really shouldn't do that. God really does not like to see that nor does he deserve it

Encouraging thought of the day:

If you drop something and you're unable to pick it up, there are really some nice people out there that God will put in your direction and will get what you dropped!

Romans 1:25 ESV

Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Leviticus 26:1 ESV

“You shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God.

Exodus 20:5 ESV

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
