Let me first define the word intimate. Be mindful of the words, personally close friend, a best friend, familiar, and confidant. Now, I want you to think of the Bible. Are you seeing some connections? Are you seeing why I'm saying we should be intimate with the Bible?
Friends, remember the Bible is totally God's words! God would like us to be familiar with his word! God wants to be our best friend! And, we can get to know him more by reading all about Him in the bible.
The bottom line is we need to know the scriptures. I remember a friend of mine said to me, rather boastfully and proud, "Oh, I know the Bible! Ask me anything about the Bible!" Feeling quite shocked from this person's reaction, I was stunned silent for a few seconds. See, this person said that they did not even know Christ as their personal savior. I didn't ask this person to recite something from the Bible. This person may have been correct in saying they knew anything about the Bible. However, I didn't want to risk the person being embarrassed. I think the question we have to ask ourselves is do we know the Bible with just our minds or do we know the Bible with our minds and hearts?
Friends, if you are a believer in Christ and you know what the scriptures say, then, you know you must share the word of God with unbelievers. When you try to share Christ with an unbeliever and it is God's will for him or her to be a believer, then we better believe that because of the power of the word of God he or she will become a believer. Friends, there is power in the name of Jesus!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:105 ESV
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Matthew 4:4 ESV
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Ps crap I fell asleep while doing my writing. So, after Joe made a pizza omelet I wrote for 15 more minutes and finished! I guess the Lord thought I needed more sleep. :-)
