Before I start my writing, of course, I need to give a few shout-outs to people who have already received a card from me today. First of all, I first would like to give a shout out to Victor. Victor was my Paratransit driver that brought me and Joe to the airport this morning. Then I want to give a shout out to Danielle who did the female assist for the security check before I got in the gate for my flight. Then I want to give a shout out to two flight attendants named Karen who I never really met and Mike another flight attendant. I pray that all the people I met this morning will be encouraged by my writings!
Do you consider yourself a humble person? I mean it's not in our human nature to always think about others before ourselves. Let me paint a picture for you guys. Let's say that one day you and a friend are absolutely driving and have nothing to eat because of whatever reason. Then, all of the sudden, a friend out of nowhere, comes up to you and offers you a cookie. Be mindful that the friend only offered you the cookie. Just one cookie. Then, what are you going to do?
I know! Perhaps, you will accept the cookie because you know you will split it in half so your other friend will have a piece. Or, maybe you'll refuse to accept the cookie because that wouldn't be fair if your friend wasn't offered one. Those thoughts sound nice huh? Well, guess what folks. I don't think we have that mindset all the time.
I've seen it from others, and myself included. I am talking about when some people's stomachs are empty and they are feeling incredibly hungry, their whole demeanor and attitude may seem so mean and with vulgar or coarse language! I'm talking a possible replica of the character from The Exorcist. LOL
On the flip side, I want to talk about my hair. Pay attention, I'm not comparing my husband to the Exorcist. No, he is actually completely the opposite. I don't know how else to say it but Joe is the most selfless person I know. If I went into specifics and elaborated more on how selfless he is, we will probably end up writing a book. So, wait for that addition to come out. Lol
Seriously though, it all started with Jesus. Jesus was hands down the first ever to put others interests before his own. So, I guess he got it from Jesus 'example.
Friends, I know it's not an easy thing to do 24/7. However I hope you can see from what I'm saying and from the examples I've given that it is possible with the help of Jesus Christ! And that's all we can really do. Ask for help from Jesus Christ to mimic his example of showing more Humility versus Pride.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Luke 14:11 ESV
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
