Just a quick recap. This was a singing group, I believe, in the 90's that were pretty popular. They had excellent singing voices, they hit the top of the charts in the music industry, but there was just one problem. What was that problem you ask? Milli Vanilli basically deceived people because they weren't really singing those hits. Nope, they were lip syncing. Now you get what I mean when I say they deceived people?
I don't really know the details of how their big lie to the whole world was exposed, because I think I was still pretty young or maybe not, I can't remember. However the truth of the matter is they got caught up.
This kind of reminds me of us humans and God. One day, all that we have done in our lives will be exposed. We will one day have to face the music. So, no we can't lie about anything or hide anything from God. God had a plan that one day Milli Vanilli would be exposed and they suffered the consequences. God has a plan that one day we all will be exposed and the reality is, we don't deserve heaven and we should suffer the consequences. We should all go to hell. However, because of Jesus Christ and what he did for us we don't have to. So, what's going to happen when you have to face the music?
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,
1 Corinthians 4:5 ESV
Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
