Seriously right? Almost is an interesting word. I think of when I'm sick in bed and my husband says what would you like to eat? It would take me awhile to answer which I knew aggravated my husband. Sometimes it would take a while because I would use a word similar to the context of the word almost just to delay or prolong me having to answer the question. Does that make sense?
If I don't have a definitive answer, the word almost is not enough. I need to be 100% sure of what I want. Think about it. Well, for my example, Joe would probably get really upset if my mindset was on almost wanting to eat soup. I tell him I want soup. But then what if, when the soup is cooked, I change my mind and want something else to eat. Joe's been there. I've been there. It's not a good place to be. We would get annoyed right that's why we expect answers that we get from people to be set in stone. I'm chuckling a little bit because I should follow my own writing. Sometimes I'm the queen of changing her mind.
It kind of reminds me of that Bible character Herod Agrippa. Paul shared the gospel with him and told him all about Jesus Christ. But, Herod Agrippa was not fully there when it came to wanting to accept Jesus Christ. He was almost there. However, almost is not enough.
My friends, there is no time like the present when it comes to accepting Jesus Christ. Because, we don't know if he's going to give us our final breath in the next minute or so. Will you guys be going to heaven? I have no idea, that's a choice that only you can make. Let me end my writing with some words from Greg Laurie:
Only God can make you aware of your need for Christ, but only you can put your faith in Him. God won’t do it for you, because He has given you a free will. It’s up to you to respond and decide to become a follower of Jesus Christ.Acts 26:28 King James Version (KJV)
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
