A Free Gift

It's free! Who doesn't want that?! My dad would tell me ever since I was of age to understand that there is nothing in life that is free. I would remember that for years on end and I would listen to what that meant. However, I do remember in my twenties I forgot about my dad's good advice, and I don't remember specifics, but I do remember getting myself into a scam because I was being offered something for free in exchange for nothing. Thank God I was able to get out of that one and not lose too much money!

So, no I don't believe that "the best things in life are free" as the song goes. I do believe that eternal life with God is a free gift from our God! Thanks to Jesus Christ, we are offered the free gift of salvation. Please think about it. We humans do not have to do anything or pay anything to get this free gift.

Yes, there are commands like from The Ten Commandments that the Lord made for us to follow, but obeying all Ten Commandments is not a prerequisite to get into heaven and to receive eternal life. The equation goes Faith Equals salvation Plus good works

Folks, I'm saying we are offered the free gift of salvation! Friends, once we decide to put our faith in Jesus Christ, it is our choice if we will choose to obey God's commands. If we choose not to obey them, it's not like we are going to lose our salvation. We are not going to lose the free gift that was offered to us. Please don't misunderstand. If one chooses to be a child of God their hearts would have this spiritual desire to follow God's teachings. A child of God may mess up. And, when that happens usually they will feel convicted AKA feel bad. The next step is to ask the Lord for forgiveness and then your slate is wiped clean and it's like the bad thing you did never happened in the Lord's eyes.

Now the question is will you accept the free gift? Just like if someone offers you a $20 bill. Are you going to reach your hand out and grab it? To reiterate, you are given the free gift of eternal life because of Jesus Christ. Are you going to decide to follow Jesus, let him inside your heart, believe that he died for you so that you can have life? All you have to do is grab it. Then, you will be assured eternal life in heaven for eternity with Jesus Christ! What about you guys? Have you decided to follow Jesus?
