We Want That

Why are we like that? Oh yeah because we're human. What am I taking about? Let me explain.

Imagine this, my husband and I, or maybe you yourself, just bought this awesome camera with 20 megapixels.  Then the following year, another camera was invented with 100 megapixels.  When in reality, we really only need 10 megapixels.  Who wants to see the ridges on our faces, right?

That's what we want. We want: faster, bigger screens, more functions, etc. When in reality, all we need, for example, is for a phone to talk to somebody, for the TV to be able to watch TV shows clearly, and for the camera to be good enough to take your quick snapshot.  Perhaps, taking a picture of your wife holding cheese? Lol check out the YouTube link I attached, that will explain things better.

Folks, we shouldn't be like that. I mean, we need to be content. We should want to be content. Do you think I'm going to say that if you accept Jesus as your savior, then you will be content?  Nope that's not true, just because you asked him to save you doesn't mean he is going to make you content.  You can pray to be content and he can help you but hes not gonna make you content.

So, how does one become content? 1st of all I don't have like a magic potion for a life of contentment. Nope, sorry. The truth is, if we wanna be content, it takes a lot of work. I think being thankful for what you have is a good place to start.

Encouraging thought of the Day:

Thanking Jesus for all you have right now is the best way to start.  Be Thankful!

Philippians 4:11-12 ESV

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

Hebrews 13:5 ESV

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

1 Timothy 6:6-8 ESV

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
