I want to share a story with you guys that I rediscovered when I read my One Year Bible the other week. Let me first say that what I'm about to write about is not verbatim, probably, but pretty much to the context. I suggest reading the actual story from the Bible to get the whole story in its entirety.
What I'm about to share is some points about a woman in the Bible who really showed great faith. First, let me tell you a little bit about the story. This is a story about Jesus being in a town. There were so many people trying to talk to Jesus. They wanted to talk to him so he can heal them, I guess.
There was this one particular woman in the crowd. This woman had been bleeding for many many years. And she had spent all of her money on many physicians trying to heal her. However, I guess apparently since she just kept bleeding, nothing worked with them.
To reiterate, there's just so many people since she wasn't able to talk to Jesus. She thought if she could just touch his cloak she would be healed and free from all her troubles. So, she like bum rushed everyone in the crowd just to touch the robe of Jesus. Once she did that she was immediately healed!
As I say that sentence, I had to just stop for a second and truly realize and soak in what just happened. I said out loud, "Wow that's crazy style!" I wonder if anyone here at Starbucks heard me. Probably not. :-)
Anyway, back to the story. So once she was healed, do you think she just went on her merry way and thought I'm all good now thank you, later Jesus. No, let's rewind the story. As soon as this woman was healed, Jesus stopped dead in his tracks and yelled out, "Who just touched me?" Jesus said he felt healing power come out from him.
The woman started shaking cuz she was so scared and said that she did. She was the one who touched him. Jesus was probably feeling very happy to know that someone had that much faith in Him! He said to the woman,☺️ "Go now your faith has healed you!"
Wow, friends isn't that an awesome story? Well, It's not just a story, it's reality! Not to say that one can physically touch the cloak of Jesus now. No. Let's not be crazy now. What we could do now and I think he would want us to do, is fill our heart with so much faith in Him and what he is able to do.
Friends, we need to remember our God is omnipresent and omnipotent. God can heal me now if he wants to. God can heal you now if he wants to. God can heal the person next to me if he wants to. God can heal the person next to you if He wants to. God can heal my family and my friends if he wants to. So on and so forth. There are no time limits or time constraints with God God is in the business of making things happen.
