Whether it be a pretty good human being or not a good human being, God offers us unmerited favor aka " grace. " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:
16.
Friends, do we totally understand what that is really saying? I mean it is some pretty heavy stuff that we all should be so thankful for! I'll say it again Jesus Christ died for you and me so that we would have eternal life in heaven! Do you seriously know of someone that would die for you? Do you think that you would die for someone else?
I'm thinking it's really easy to "say" that they would do something like that. But, will that person really be able to "walk " what they "talk?"
Will you or me be able to do something like that for someone else? I don't know if anyone can truthfully answer that right now. You know what I mean? Do you really know the answer to that? What we currently think or say now may totally differ from what we will do later. Really, it is all about being in the ”now time."
I almost forgot to tell you. My thoughts for this writing stems from the Bible story in Genesis of Jacob and Esau. Remember how with those two brothers Jacob was so jealous of Esau. He stole Esau's blessing and Birthright? Well, eventually Esau forgave Jacob for all he had done. However, he did not. Now, you can say that was grace.

I think the question we really need to ask ourselves right now is this. Do we know if we were going to die in the next few seconds, are we going to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus Christ? Have we truly trusted in his unmerited favor?

1 John 5:11-12
And this is the testimony, God has given us eternal life and this life is in his son. He who has the son has life. He who does not have the son of God does not have life.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2: 8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
