It is Wednesday, February 14, Valentine's Day! I remember so many years ago back in my late teens, there was a period of time I blended in with other single women, and we could care less about Valentine's Day! I remember pretty clearly, probably because I did see a picture that just appeared one day. But, I remember, two of my girlfriends Missy and Chris and I decided to have some girls time and had a sleepover at my parents' house.
Remember, my long term memory is so weird! My short-term memory? Definitely not as good as my long term. That's a different story. However, I do remember me and my friends were totally bashing on that day rehashing all the mean, and bad features of "jerky" men we have dated prior.
I do not think we should have done that. I mean having a girl's night was cool, but we could have done that without bashing on this beautiful day other couples really enjoy. And, we definitely should not have been talking shmack about other people. Forgiveness apparently wasn't there.
Valentine's Day is a day when people really experience love. My friend told me the other day after I had suggested to her to ask her significant other if he would do this one favor for her. She said, today would be the only day she would be able to get any kind of requests kindly given to her from her man. I thought that was cool. And funny...yet sad! Seriously, treat your significant other with love and respect! Carefully kindly listen to their requests. Doesn't have to be just on Valentine's Day! God loves us in the morning and in the afternoon. He loves us in the evening and underneath the moon! God loves us all the time!
Friends, we are loved! All of us. Our friend from The Book of Genesis in the story of Joseph may have suffered so much heartache and pain. But, throughout all of that the Lord was always with Joseph making sure he felt treasured and loved!
Let's be thankful that although there is so much (oh so much) that we do not understand in this world, we can trust in God's marvelous, unfailing, and unconditional love.
Let's ask the Lord to help us today and everyday, to continue to marvel at his great love for us!
Wishing you and your loved ones Happy Valentine's Day!
God loves us in the morning, and in the afternoon. He Loves Us in the evening and underneath the moon! TBC........................
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
