Genesis Series Part 41: Sin In His Eyes

Happy Friday! Wow, I've been gone for a couple days from Starbucks. So, it feels good to be back! There is this gentleman sitting next to me that I gave one of my cards to.  I pray, Mike, that you will be encouraged by the writings! Then, there was a new guy here so I asked Miguel, another Starbucks worker if he can bring him over here so I can give him a card. So, Sean, I pray that you will be encouraged by my writings as well! Time to dive in!

Now, I'm almost done with the Book of Genesis and the story of Joseph. I was thinking today was the day I was done but the Lord had a different idea. I wanted to revert back to the story of Potiphar's wife and Joseph. Remember that story?

Yeah, that story. Sometimes, when I stay home and I'm flipping through the channels, I may end up on some talk show where it gets all riled up and rowdy. Why? Because adultery was the topic of the day. Maybe somebody now who is reading this is going through that.  Crap there's someone now who is about to go through that and is heavily contemplating this. Who knows? All I know is for some reason, even though this topic was kept hidden away when I discovered the topic weeks ago, the Lord wanted me to write about it now!  Wow, maybe there is someone going through this right now who really needs to hear what I have to write. Maybe my writing today will save a marriage! Who knows? I can happe, right?

Why are you men and women waking up and getting ready to go to work every day? Is it because you want to save up money to bring your kids to college? Is it because you need money so you can pay your mortgage? Is it because you're saving up for a nice family vacation? If your motive for going to work each day is to make money for educational purposes and leisurely activities for you and the family, then you have the right mindset, and keep working.

However,. If what excites you, gets you up in the morning, and entices you to go to work each day is because you would like to see that gorgeous lady coworker? Or, for the women, that very handsome male coworker, then I wouldn't be surprised if that would end up in a failed marriage.

Perhaps now you're thinking like this. "It's not my fault I am a woman that has a beautiful chest that I think need to be flaunted in that low-cut black blouse. That will show the guys at work my perfect cleavage."  Or that good-looking man, what are you thinking? It wasn't your fault she wearing the dress?  Maybe you guys are thinking about something like that.

Okay, let me share my deep thoughts about this. First of all, to the men, I think you are both right and wrong. Let me explain. Men, you are right, you are not in charge of picking the women's wardrobe. But, you are wrong when you choose to even gaze upon her beautiful body. Choosing not to look is a discipline between you and yourself and of course the help of God. For example, if you are man or woman that likes to look at pornography then I suggest put an electric shock on your computer so when you click on those sites you will be shocked. I'm kind of kidding. I mean don't kill yourself or anything. Lol

From The Book of Genesis, in the story of Joseph, when he was living in Potiphar's home, Potiphar's wife was a slutty whore, hoe bag, hoochie mama and all that bad stuff.  Let me stop with the name calling.  You guys get it.  I hope that sparked a memory, though. In this story, it doesn't really say or I don't remember what she was wearing, however from contexts, wouldn't you guys think she was dressed slutty and promiscuously?  Maybe she was even naked, I don't know.  The point is that girl was using her beautiful body that the good Lord gave her as a stumbling block to Joseph and, he did what anyone of us should do if ever in that situation.  He ran.  Ask yourself if you ever found yourself in that type of situation, what would you do?

Monday through Saturday, I don't really pay attention to my wardrobe. I just wear whatever I want. When Sunday comes around, I pay attention! Sometimes I will forget or I will be too lazy to really look so I just will grab whatever is within eyesight.  Believe me, before I can even go out my bedroom door my husband pays attention. And, if it is not to his liking I need to change my clothes.  However, paying attention to what we wear before we go out the door should be an everyday thing.

TBC......

You don't wanna be all these things that Profyle is singing bout, do you? I didn't think so.

1 Timothy 2:9-10 ESV

Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Proverbs 31:30 ESV

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Matthew 5:28 ESV

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
