Genesis Series Part 42: Sometimes It's Just Not

Before I start my writing for the day, I would just like to give a shout out to this nice man I just met. Yep, it's early Saturday morning and I just met somebody. "How could that be," you might be asking yourself. Well yes, I'm here at Joe's work again. And, I just met this nice man named Matt, one of Joe's co-workers. So that's why God wants me to go with him and have my cards handy. Of course, I offered him one and thank you, Matt, for graciously accepting. I pray that you will have a wonderful day and be encouraged by the writings! Let's do this!

Maybe you guys are like me or some other people I know. We get accustomed. That could be a good thing. You don't want to be a novice to certain things. I mean, for the rest of your life. Right?  Do you? I don't know. Everyone is different and everyone has their own mindset on different things.  Yes, I think that could be a good thing. Notice that I use the word "could." Now I'm going to add "that won't always" be a good thing.  Are you guys starting to understand where I'm getting at?

Time for an example from Sam's life. Anyone of you guys, that have checked out this blog at least once and read my profile or read in one of my writings, know that I have Multiple Sclerosis.

For more than 10 years I have been waking up at 3,4,5 or 6 in the morning. Of course on Joe's work days it's more like three or four because I have to be done with my bathroom stuff before he does his bathroom stuff.  On weekends, the wake-up time varies.  I've said it over and over, God is my alarm clock! It kind of sucks when I wake up at 2 but for some reason, he still gives me the same energy as if I woke up at 9.

Lately, since my MS has progressed, now my bathroom stuff in the morning sometimes is all over the place. I know I should have a routine especially since I'm having help. However, I've discovered that that's not what God wants for me. And, I've also discovered the muscles have a mind of their own.  I got diagnosed 2003. You do the math.

Okay, if we switch the topic to change with God. We can say confidently that God doesn't change. He's the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  Now, reverting back to his people. We are a different story. Do you like change? We need to welcome change because God might change something in our lives. I could give many examples right now but I'm not going to call anyone out. I'm just going to say prepare for change. Heartfully welcome change if it comes.

Oops!  I almost forgot the bible relation.  With Joseph, son of Jacob and Rebekah, he started out as a real nobody.  However, the end result is that he became a somebody.  He actually became the most important person in history at that time.

Okay here's what I think. I think God allows change to happen for his own reasons. I'm thinking one of the reasons is to test us, but don't quote me on that because I don't know for sure. It just makes sense to me though. God is not about confusing us people, right? Change is probably for the better sometimes. And, he knows that!

Encouraging thought of the day:

Change Can Be A Good Thing

Philippians 1:6 ESV

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:8 ESV

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Joshua 1:9 ESV

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
