Genesis Series Part 64: Revealed

Happy Thursday! Before I start writing, let me give a shout out to these two ladies that were sitting next to me yesterday. McKenzie, it was so nice meeting you. And "Hi" also to Laura.  I wish I could have met you! I'm praying that you'll be encouraged by the writing. I also want to give a shout out to Robert. Thank you, Robert, for telling them I need my hot water! Time to dive into today's writing

I know you guys probably thought I was done speaking about him. Sorry, I'm not LOL. You know who I'm talking about right? Yep, Joseph.  First, let me share an example.

I remember way back when I was around 15 years old. I didn't know Christ.  I definitely hung out with the wrong crowd. When I say I'm wrong I'll say this will be involving the police. No, no, no, don't worry it's nothing to do with killings or anything. That's crazy. Not like I ever joined a gang or anything. It's only a crew. But thank God it didn't go further than that. Anyway, let me continue. I'm sorry for rambling.

So, in my non-Christian days, I remember there being an incident where my two friends and I were in a situation. It was a normal day, my girlfriends and I were shopping at Ford City Mall. I believe this took place at the Kohl's store.

My girl who will remain nameless stole a t-shirt. Anyway, my friend did it again the next week because a few weeks before this incident they actually did it a few weeks before. Since they didn't get caught, they did it again.  Now that I think of it the way that they did it was pretty obvious. I don't think this matters, but it's not like I'm trying to give advice on how to be a thief. Lol.

So, anyway, as soon as we left the store and went outside, the store workers and the cops were right behind us. The cops told me that I can go because I didn't steal anything.  So, I don't remember how I got home, maybe I took the bus, but I went home.

So, when I got home, it was like nothing happened. I didn't say anything about the stealing incident. A few hours after I got home I get a call from the police. Apparently, my "friends" gave up my name, even if I didn't do anything.  See, the first time they stole something, they stole, I believe it was an Adidas shirt, blue or light blue.  Don't you just love my crazy memory?

The girl who had stolen the shirt decided to give it to me as a birthday present. So apparently, this whole thing happened sometime in May of like '95. Anyway, my friend told me I had to give back the shirt she stole. I repeat thank you God that I was not into that stealing stuff.

You know how I see this as? I see this like this. God totally allowed this to happen because he wanted to reveal to my heart that this was the wrong way to live my life. You know what I love that it led to? That led to my parents forbidding me to hang out with my friends anymore. That led me to speak with my Auntie Vickie who told me more about Christ. That led to me getting saved!

It was the same, kind of, with the story of Joseph. What I mean is the revelation of Joseph's brother's selling him had to come out and God did allow that to come out. Yeah, what the brothers did to Joseph was beyond horrible. However, if they never did that, Joseph would have never become the ruler of Egypt (second only to Pharoah).  Joseph's brothers would have never been the Twelve Tribes of Israel because they would all be dead from the famine!

There's no doubt in my mind. And there should be no doubt in you guys' mind that God knows exactly what he's doing. And he's going to allow good stuff and bad stuff. But, can you see from Joseph's story and even from my story that bad events can eventually end up being good?

With my story, the bad needed to be revealed so that I can be healed.

Pause break. So, I just went in line at Starbucks with Tiny so she can try the drink that I get sometimes. Wow, it's all good actually feeling just like normal people like going in line and waiting for my drink, rather than them always bringing the drink to me and my table.

Actually, while we were waiting there was this really nice lady Sloan that I gave my card too. She was saying she really liked my boots.  They were very pretty. I said, "thank you" and I said, "oh hold on." She's about to leave so I wanted to give her a card. She was about to leave but I quickly opened my purse and good thing I found my stuff right away and then gave her a card. Sloan, I pray you will be encouraged by the writing!

Rambling again? Sorry!

TBC....................

Romans 8:28 ESV

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 5:3-5 ESV

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
